‘I became interested in Pet Portraits after our Smooth Fox Terrier, Jasper was diagnosed with Cancer in March 2008 and when he and I visited a vet on the Sunshine Coast for his Chemotherapy treatment. He was treated over a 20 week period in early 2008 and during these long visits, as the chemo was administered, I would wait for him in the vets waiting room. I saw many people bring in all sorts of pets and I noted the emotions involved. Each pet was unique and displayed a special character and each one of them was deeply loved by their owner. Because of this experience, I decided to use my ability as an artist to offer portraits of pets as a tribute to this love’.
